Torquay - Seaside Guide
Torquay is part of Torbay known as the English Riviera and is built on several hills which lead majestically down to the coast. It is this beautiful aspect to the sea that keeps thousands of visitors coming back to Torquay year after year. As with the rest of the stunning county of Devon it is the beautiful, unspoiled rugged coastline and countryside – allowing travelers to unwind at a pace of life that everybody would like to become accustomed to - that is the greatest attraction for the majority of tourists, but Torquay offers so much more than this. The large modern marina now adds to the towns attractiveness, can you image a more picturesque location to unwind outside a bar of café with a long drink and just watch the world go by? You are also able to book your sea cruises at the harbourside – an opportunity to be taken out among the waves. Whilst the town centre attracts most people, excellent beaches can be found at Babbacombe, with a cliff railway to take you down to the coast. Water sports available on the main beach, so if you fancy turning your hand to something a little more energetic than topping up your tan, here’s you chance – windsurfing perhaps?
Torquay also has a major shopping area, theatre, cinema, restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs which offers plenty of entertainment for the evenings.
Rooms To Book offers a wealth of Torquay accommodation right in the heart of it all. So whether you plumb for the plush surroundings of a Torquay hotel or the welcoming atmosphere of a local Torquay B&B, we have plenty on offer for you.
